Before Hypha, I was a young founder running a nonprofit with big ambitions and tiny pockets. I did every job there was, and slept little.
I remember lying awake wondering if I missed a deadline nobody told me about, or if the government was going to come knocking over something I didn't realize I was supposed to do. What I wanted most was someone who understood this stuff and would answer my questions without judging me or starting the hourly billing.
Somewhere in all that, I noticed that the money side was the part I actually liked. I kept learning, and before long other founders were coming to me with questions, then with their books, then with their tax returns. When they started asking if they could hire me instead of their accountant, Hypha was born.
Since then, I've put in the work to grow as an accountant. I worked on Intuit's QuickBooks and TurboTax teams, handling hundreds of returns and complex cleanups. I've supported multiple CPA firms with their workflows, become a certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and earned my Enrolled AgentAn Enrolled Agent (EA) is a tax professional licensed by the IRS with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers in audits, collections, and appeals. Earning the credential requires passing a rigorous three-part exam, a background check, and ongoing continuing education. designation from the IRS, which provides me with unlimited rights to represent taxpayers.
